Local Council Investigates Lily Allen Over Smoking

Pop star Lily Allen is currently under investigation after being accused of smoking at a non-smoking venue while in concert. The singer performed at a concert in Liverpool and is now under investigation because of the incident.

The council of Liverpool have undertaken an investigation into the accusations that Lily Allen smoked at a music venue in Liverpool. According to BBC reports the Liverpool council were alerted to the incident via a local newspaper who reviewed the show.

A spokesman for the council says that if the "Smile" singer is found to have been smoking, she will have violated the workplace legislation. Anyone who witnessed Allen smoking is being asked to contact the council.

The venue and Lily Allen can be fined if the singer is found to have smoked at the venue. When contacted a spokesperson for Lily Allen refused to comment on the allegation. Only recently Lily Allen was asked by Elton John to design a bar for his AIDS charity. It is thought that her design went on to raise over 100,000 pounds for charity.

Contact Music quoted the singer describing her bar: "I thought, it's such a good idea, but what if you're not a millionaire and don't have that much space? They would look quite odd in my size living room. So I decided to make something compact."

Lily Allen is used to causing controversy. She has recently claimed that illegal downloads are hurting the music industry and in particular is stifling musicians. Despite receiving criticism for her views from people like Radiohead and Pink Floyd she is undeterred that her stance is the correct one. Because of her wild reputation Lily Allen has also been the focus of a tabloid campaign trying to stop young women from drinking. Because of her disputes and problems this year Lily Allen has now confirmed that she will not be performing music for the next couple of years and will instead concentrate on acting.
